One of the last places left in Reading where you can listen to some good rock and metal music. Look out for live bands playing here. Never seen any trouble in this pub despite some bad press this place has had in the past. Cheap prices at the bar and friendly staff. berkshireboozer - 15 Mar 2015 19:38 |
According to the local paper the Council are about to close this venue due to under-age drinking and the gang culture it seems to encourage. About bl**dy time! whisky_diet - 21 Aug 2012 18:38 |

As lovely as this place is, it is in desperate need of a revamp and a lick of paint. It has come to be like Fez, but slightly less bearable. The music on Fridays means you can use this place as a retreat from all the idiots which crawl from under rocks on the weekends and with reasonable drink prices too. Its such a shame that the place always seems understaffed as drink times can take ages, especially if there is a function or gig going on in one of the rooms but dont get me wrong, the staff they have are good. The other minor problem is that of your resident DJs. You can pretty much expect the same music to be played every week, week in and week out. Maybe try to have themed nights, like, one Friday of just SKA, playing underground and unknown bands, or one night of metal, playing well known and underground bands. This way your customers wont fall asleep at their seats, watching the scantily dressed larger ladies dance around like trollops. anonymous - 24 Jun 2010 11:03 |
