Cracking little pub tucked off the main shopping street and a real ale lovers mecca. 8 hand pumps with a cracking range of ales on, mainly local or microbreweries' with every ale available being a new one for me, now that's a feat! I worked my way through a few pumps with my ales being Flipside Brewery Flipping Best @ 4.6%; Glenworth Brewery Iceman @ 4.5%; Lincoln Green Brewing Co Sherwood @ 4.4% and Tring Wooden Wonder @ 4.2%. There's also a decent Belgian bottle beer range. The pub feels very much like a micro pub , maybe that's what it is! Friendly & chatty locals I had a very pleasant time drinking here, scores highly from me. lezford - 26 Jan 2017 09:36 |
Wow rated 8.8 prior to this post. Who am I to change that for what is a small but cracking pub. Here last Saturday just after 1.00pm and half a dozen others present. Some piped music was plying in the background. They have 9 hand pulls with 8 for ale and one for cider. All ales from little know brewers with no sign of the dreaded doom bore. I had a pint of Doncaster brewers Glenworths Summer End which was very nice indeed for £2.60 a pint. Only the pressure of time stopped me trying another. bjbrummiejohn - 10 Oct 2016 12:45 |
Still the towns leading real ale venue. 8 real ales and real cider. harrydaverchi - 17 May 2014 09:17 |
Small bar that has an older feel to it. Good selection of ales. Best bet for a decent ale in he town. anonymous - 23 Jun 2013 20:35 |
By far the best pub in Gainsborough for real ale. It always has something interesting on the handpumps. wildnight - 24 Nov 2008 22:21 |
