Well of the beaten track but quite a surprise. Next to the canal on a country road in the middle of nowhere. Single roomed. Lunch time and packed out with pensioners - and they always no where the bargains are to be had. Three real ales on - Enville, HPA and one other. From the branded glassware, it would appear that Three Tuns is the elusive fourth pump turned backwards. The HPA was as good as I have had it anywhere and my local is a Wye Valley House. Called in for a pint and some food. While the place was quite basic in decor it seemed clean enough, the real ale was good and the food was basic but tasty and well portioned. I'd hapily go back again. DudleyC - 31 Mar 2011 21:46 |
As I read linwolf comment it feel it necessary to put the record straight The pub has had a make over, the locals are a bunch of friendly peeps as is the owner ROSCO, the pub serves great food & always has enough beer to keep me going every day of the week. Open log fires during the winter months its like being at home try it Your aways welcome @ the navi..... BrummieDave - 10 Sep 2008 12:04 |
This should be a great pub, its in a great location in the countryside and on the canal, but alas its not. There are supposed to be 3 beers on, but I have never been in when they are all on, usually 2 of the 3 have run out. Normally only one person serving. The pub is in desparate need for a complete refurb. Could be a gold mine. Linwolf - 3 Sep 2007 14:51 |
