please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
The Princess Victoria has been taken over and completely renovated by its new owners in the beginning of 2011. It is now a very elegant and comfortable pub that serves delicious food all day. Gone are the TV screens and quiz machines. The pub is now a firm favourite amongst tourists and locals as a cool place to meet in Kensington. They have a varied wine list as well as a menu full of traditional and innovative dishes. As locals the Princess Victoria is now our favourite pub in the area. georegered - 17 May 2011 15:58 |
Quite a squat building, with the pub's name boldly displayed on the facade, but rather smaller inside than I expected. Compact, 'L'-shaped bar with some comfortable, fairly modern seating. Two handpumps, offering Courage Directors and Deuchars IPA at typical-for-the-area (i.e. quite high) prices. The large wall-mounted screens showing sports TV seemed slightly out of place for this type of Kensington bar, but overall this is a reasonable sort of place. rpadam - 1 May 2010 09:39 |
Kensington seems to excel in the field of pub to bar conversions and this is another good example. The smal bar space is nicely decorated with comfortable furnishings and welcomes all comers. Quiz machine plus three plasma screens showing sports so its always possible to see one of them wherever you are sitting. There were two hand pumps both of which were disappointingly turned around and the Guinness came in at a pricey 3.15, although it did have a pretty good shamrock in the head. Pleasant pub, just off the High Road. Small and intimate, with a couple of plasma screens showing football. anonymous_beer_lover - 15 Feb 2007 12:28 |
Small pub just off High Street Kensington which does food in the evenings and Courage ales. beeronaut - 26 Jun 2006 15:30 |
