Friendly pub that felt like a village pub. Ales were Black Sheep Best Bitter & Monty Python's Flying Circus, Roosters This Is England & Cameron's Whakanui. They also had Thatcher's Stan's Big Apple cider. A CAMRA discount is offered. It was fairly quiet on my visit. blue_scrumpy - 1 May 2018 19:56 |
Great place: character, nice old building, timeless interior, good beers and hearty food. Worth seeking out. eddybeer - 18 Feb 2013 15:15 |
Been just once but had a great time. Had a couple of real ales on. Rustic interior with oldie worldie feel. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. wooly2708 - 27 Apr 2011 15:01 |
a wonderful atmospheric pub, which if you are not a local is quite difficult to find, just one guest ale, which mostly alters everyday, due to the barrels been 9's, beer almost always in tip top condition. also the service is first class, well worth seeking out. birstallblue - 15 Dec 2009 17:52 |
Comfortable, historically interesting building. Excellent, reasonably priced food. Unfortunately only one (rotated) guest beer. John_Brownsword - 11 Jun 2006 08:47 |
