What a disappointment this place was.

We struggled up the steep hill from the ferry hoping for a lovely country pub and what we got was a mismatch of a pub come café come shop come post office!

I totally understand and admire the place for keeping the community going with all these essential services but for gods sake try and make it a bit more presentable for the customer. Also place had no change and seemed a bit clueless too, although she did admit she was having a bad day.

3/10 (And that was only because they sold Dartmoor Legend)

Stayed here for a few nights and absolutely loved it. Very friendly and down to earth staff, helpful and obliging, lovely food and near to beautiful walks and of course Dittisham Quay, River Dart, Greenway House, etc. Stayed in 2 different rooms and both were beautiful, though of course the one with the views of the river was idyllic. Dog thought he was in paradise too. Hope we can get back there, it was a treat.

A bizarre set up here. A mish-mash of pub, shop and post office. To put a positive slant on it, it is a work in progress. But it has been like that for a couple of years now and the locals go to the Ferryboat down the hill or even as the Hunter's Lodge, Cornworthy for a meal. If you're eating don't expect quick service and if you don't like dogs in the restaurant.... tough there are three dalmations on the loose. This one is ripe for a Health and Safety inspection. I suppose one could look on it as the chaos of Fawlty Towers without the abuse. The staff are very good but the 'couple' (no what I mean) who run it seem to be either incompetent or are actively trying to drive people away.Ask the locals....

16 of us stayed her for New Year, the rooms are very nice and clean, the food was exceptional and home made.
They have 3 lovely dogs ,2 of which are Dalmations and well behaved.
A very friendly pub and Tony plays a mean guitar.
well worth a visit.

Stayed in this pub and the staff are friendly and eager to please. The rooms are very comfy and the food is nice. The beer is not all it could be, only one half decent real ale on offer, we did try all of them. The pub has recently had a change of owner and is still settling down. Nice relaxed atmosphere though.
