I found this pub quite by accident, and glad I did. Really good lunchtime food and friendly landlord. In a lovely location, rustic and full of character. Couldn't try the ale as I was driving, but would certainly recommend a visit if you're in the area. ELP - 16 May 2014 12:10 |
A beautiful pub with a lovely wooden interior. Visited as the landlord wasa about to close, but he kindly stayed open to serve us drinks. They also gave us the number for a local B&BH so we were able to phone ahead and book a room for the night. had a delightful pint (or 2) of the mild and the missus joined me in drinking what has become one of her favourite beverages in recent times. A superb pub run by a very freindly landlord. Will definitely be visiting again soon to sample the food. Buster_M - 12 Jun 2013 10:21 |
We had Sunday lunch here this week Great Staff Great Beer Great Food we will be going back soon ArthurWoofWoof - 17 May 2011 11:34 |
Had Sunday lunch there today. The young, enthusiastic staff were really great, but the roast was not so great. Both Yorkshire and gravy were not up to much. Yorhshire was all air and gravy lacked flavour. Veg were ok but also not flavoursome. Meat was ok. Interesting that 'specials' were not available. Perhaps the chef gets Sundays off. There were few lunchers, around 4-5 tables out of around 12 occupied at peak time on Suunday. Nice pints of Kent Best and Masterbrew. Certainly a friendly place, but maybe not ideal for Sunday lunch. mark555 - 24 Oct 2010 22:13 |
I agree. The best 'Late Red' I've ever drunk, bag full of hoppiness, really nice Bacon & Brie baguette, attractive and clean pub full of atmosphere and a landlord who knows his job. No damned piped music or fruit machine. No shouty chavs. We shall return for a 'proper' meal next time. I'll give the place a rare (for me) 10/10. Can't fault it. Paul_Rochdale - 7 Mar 2010 20:20 |
