Well the Qatari authorities closed the place down on New Years Eve. Yes that's right an hour before mid night the police came in and told everyone to leave..... sums up the authorties in this country exiledsaint - 11 Apr 2009 18:21 |
A home away from home, especially if you like a game of darts, watching the football or rugby or just want to hand out with some Brits. Food is good and reasonably priced and so are the drinks. exiledsaint - 25 Sep 2008 06:08 |
Agree with Mr Shaw's review below-shame I did not get to sample the pies. Surprised to find such a shrewd pub reviewer stranded in Qatar though. BlindTiger - 13 May 2007 19:30 |
A range of bottled and draught beers, wines, spirits, the cheapest in town. The atmosphere is good, with live music most weekends, excellent food at a good price, including the finest pies outside of old Mother Currall's shop in Latchford. All major sporting events are shown, including Premiership football with the famous pies served as a half-time snack; this is the only time you can get a pie and they are complementary. Across the pool is a non-smoking wine bar for those who enjoy the absence of televised sports. All in all, an excellent venue. Julian Shaw - 21 May 2006 11:11 |
