Food-oriented although the bar area's fairly large and plenty of beer garden. They had Golden Pippin on which was good but I've had better, Wainright's which was poor, Moorhouse's White Blonde and something else run-of-the-mill. So presumably it's Punch Taverns or soemthing. Staff were fine and there are worse pubs, but don't go out of your way for a drink here. We had an organised buffet for £7/head, which was a bit expensive for what we got. They have deals on main courses. Richardhuddleston - 19 Jun 2013 08:59 |
I have eaten here about 4 times now and the quality of the food is first class. I have noticed that Chef always makes the menu varied and interesting, So many Pubs just do the same old favourites but the Sands house is definitely 'a cut above' When I go out for a meal, I want more than pie and chips and I have never been disappointed here, with either the food or the excellent wines on offer. The atmosphere is welcoming and the garden is huge too. tubsmacker - 26 Aug 2010 15:48 |
Pretty good food. chris_htafc - 12 Dec 2006 15:54 |
Just beyond the urban sprawl from Huddersfield, this pub is a classy food pub with rich smells in the air at mealtimes. Multiple rooms, some non-smoking and a beer garden. Five real ales and a plethora of clocks, few of which seem to have the right time. oftenscore6 - 27 May 2006 12:22 |
