user reviews of the Oak Tree Inn, Balmaha

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Much improved since my last review. 4 ales today, all in excellent condition, 2 fro Loch Lomond Brewery and 2 from Orkney. They have a tiny microbrewery which is being expanded for next year - bottles available from the shop at moment

Turned up on a Sunday, the hottest day in May and I think half of Glasgow had turned up for a day out. Had an excellent pint and a great meal served by friendly staff. A tourist's pub for sure but not a bad one at that. As an introduction to Scotland they did a grand job.

Being the only pub in the hamlet, this is more a place to eat rather than a full on pub as such (better to head to Balloch if you want a drinking session). However, tennent's and St Andrew's ale on tap.

Disappointing to find only Greene King IPA on the handpump (and not available anyway) last week - surely could do better than this in an area with many new breweries opening, maybe the numerous Belhaven signs tell a story here. Seems to have lost a bit of character as it has grown

Lovely pub on the banks of Loch Lommond, fantastic food and well kept Deuchars IPA, friendly staff too. The garden at the back is nice, while the inside is snug.

Take a trip on the little ferry near-by to walk off lunch on the tiny island of Inchcailloch (and try saying that after a few whiskys!)
