Pleasant friendly community owned pub. There is an emphasis on food though not to the detriment of those wanting a pint like many places. The High Weald brew I had was a decent pint. Worth a drop by - though you don't have much choice in the village.

The previous 4 reviews really say it all. Our group of 9 dropped in for lunch today after a very pleasant walk and really enjoyed our visit. The proper pub grub was just the job and the Harvey's bitter was perfection in a glass. The food took a while to arrive but was well worth it. It makes a pleasant change to find an unspoilt village pub like this which has not been turned into a pretentious gastro pub.

I paid my second visit to this pub last Sunday after a walk from Haywards Heath. It's nicely situated in the middle of a pleasant Sussex village (albeit rather spoiled by cars driving through almost constantly). The Half Moon is an unpretentious, straightforward place, the way pubs used to be and should still be (but in a lot of cases aren't). There weren't many cask ales to choose from but the one I had (Harvey's Sussex Bitter) was tip top. Lovely flavour.

Decided to pop in here on a usual bike ride instead of the Cowdray Arms which is a bit lifeless and pub chain like.

This is a proper pub , pretty basic but all the better for that! And their food menu is great in its own way. Sometimes I don't want lamb shank from some gastro pub , I want egg on toast for 1.50 like they do here :)

They even gave us a whole orange from behind the bar when we asked - very friendly :)

Will definitely be going back for beans on toast and a beer :)

This is a really good small village pub. Very traditional and good for it. Beer (Harveys) is well kept and is well worth a visit. Great walks in the area as well makes it a bonus.
