Plenty of choice on offer, but it was disappointing to see that virtually none of the beers were local. Worse, while not quite off, the ales that were served up to us were very flat. 6/10, by virtue of a decent pool table. plymouthpirate - 10 Dec 2012 13:22 |
Beer selection okay, but seemed a little cliquey with a group of people round the bar and nobody else in. alexw - 7 Nov 2012 21:53 |
six handpumps to choose from and a million times better than the new inn down the road, service was friendly and the pint of caledonian autum red(2.95) was good, absolutely empty though on a mon afternoon, sad times 7/10 fat_beer_badger - 5 Sep 2011 16:28 |
A good selection of real ales on offer on the six hand pumps. Unusually, for an English pub, ther were 20 malt whiskies onoffer. The landlord and bar staff knew their stock, and could discuss the drinks. jbsjazzer - 1 Nov 2010 15:22 |
decor may be considered faded by other reviewers, but i found it comfortable, with a friendly bar maid, and a nice selection of guest ales - i had the autumn red. nice drop. The food was also tasty and reasonably priced - amazing how pub grub has improved in the past 7 years i've lived in the uk! And as a final observation - there wasn't a single complaint when a number of tourists traipsed in to use the toilets without having a drink or anything like that. Much friendlier than the wheatsheaf down the road. feedthedude - 26 Oct 2010 15:49 |
