As mentioned below this is very much a top tier Dublin pub with two areas separated by a beautiful old arch. Our beers were brought to our table and waiters were running around taking drink orders. A real timewarp of a pub. JonNgog - 29 Oct 2019 10:25 |
Simply superb and must be visited. Victorian splendour presenting a long thin bar with high stools and a small drinking area at the back room. Walls covered in drinking paraphernalia - whisky mirrors etc, Professional bar staff looking after everyone and pouring superb guinness. A real gem. Mappiman - 21 Feb 2019 15:50 |
One of the few _(10)ish old style pubs left to their past in a good way. Millwork, stained glass, snugs. with little in the way of modern shite! Great pours from the publicans. richardo - 10 Nov 2014 19:23 |
Packed on friday night 1st feb but no trouble getting to the bar or getting served why do you always feel your going to get a spank if you ask someone to move in England! As it was packed not much chance to look at the the pub itself but hey find yourself a spot and enjoy! Smithwicks was on good form! winchesterclub - 4 Feb 2008 15:44 |
I used to like this place but then I had a bad experience with a barman being unnecessarily rude, so now I and a lot of my friends just don't feel comfortable going there, which is a pity, because the atmosphere was usually nice and the beer good, and the surroundings are proper Dublin pub. I'd recommend the Stag's Head as an alternative, particularly now that the upstairs bar is open, or, a little further afield, Mulligan's on Poolbeg Street. anonymous - 25 Jun 2007 23:02 |
