It's a modern-looking family dining pub, better than the chain versions in the UK, and only a bit more expensive (small crab salad under £7), but the Liberation was average at best and, again, I saw no-one else drinking the real ale in Guernsey. mtaylor40 - 7 Jul 2013 21:59 |
Despite my previous comment, I revisited this pub during a short break in Guernsey and found the experience a much happier one. The beer was very good (the best had during our stay), and the service, although hardly attentive, more friendly. It's not really my sort of place (too modern and minimalist) but, on this showing, is a good choice for a last beer before the airport. More reports are needed. ashmather - 21 May 2012 11:25 |
It looks very good from a distance, but I suggest keeping one's distance. The clueless, rude and cocky oaf behind the bar vehemently denied that his beer was in any way cloudy, but eventually yielded, under pressure, to visual evidence. Careless service and poor quality beer, which is a shame because Liberation Blonde was the great discovery of an enjoyable sojourn in Guernsey. The pub is not as smart as it seems to want to appear: tabletops appeared never to have had a single ring mark from a glass erased, and the reception area was grubby and untidy, its carpet nearly worn through. Liberation Group needs to get a grip on this establishment and acquire some courteous, competent and industrious staff. ashmather - 28 Aug 2011 20:08 |
Without a doubt the worst service I have ever experienced. The Manager was rude and aggressive from the moment we walked in, was snappy and cross that we had dared to order food and continued to have a dreadful attitude towards us and other customers. It's quite a pleasant little restaurant but completely let down by the front of house. It's incredible that it has lasted this long considering the horrendous little troll of a man running the place. I just feel sorry for the staff. jessybee_123 - 13 Aug 2010 15:13 |
This place was a bit too modern inside for my liking. We sat outside on the rear patio, which is quite a suntrap. Only one real ale available - Fuller's London Pride. blue_scrumpy - 6 Jul 2009 16:37 |
