Another pouncy Hoxton pub, which is mainly looking for the food market. There is enough room at the bar if you just want a beer. Beer was Ok and it does sell Beavertown but clearly aimed at the new inhabitants of the area. If you are called Hugo, Milo, Pippa, or Davinia, and you went to private school you will fit in. Dave's and Steve's not so much. TheHorsesMouth - 10 Jun 2013 15:19 |
A lovely individual pub. A kitchen brewery almost literally. Just the one of theirs on handpull, Neck Oil which was fine. A porter and one other were on keg taps. We tried the former which I reckon would be amazing as a real ale. The food looked good although we didn't eat. Very friendly and a world away from the homogenised gastro pub. Thank goodness. Just reopened as Dukes Brew and Que. Home of Beavertown brewery. 6 handpumps yesterday featuring beers from their own brewery, Oakham, Dark Star and Redemption. Their own offering, Godfathers at 3.30, was excellent. Other beers a bit pricey at 3.80. American style place with ribs and chicken featuring on the menu. Worth a visit. cheshirecat - 10 Mar 2012 09:10 |
