Like a lot of the pubs around here, this is more of a restaurant, thankfully not of the modern, gastro variety, more old-school kitsch - like an upmarket harvester.
There's a good selection of beer though (mostly local) which, on my visit was kept well and served properly. It was also a good 50p a pint cheaper than all the other pubs I visited in the area.

It's food based but at least the prices are reasonable and I didn't feel edged out by the diners. Friendly service and a good choice of ales, the bar area is comfortable for a pint or two but not for a session.

How can anyone complain about this pub. We went in for lunch having spent the morning walking on a muddy hillside and came away wishing we could bring the Ladybower back down south with us. Really good range of beer on offer and the food was something else. Can thoroughly recommend the pork loin on a bed of bubble and squeak.

It's the usual complaint I'm afraid - not really a pub, more a restaraunt. Good beers though from local brewery "Bradfields" and others from nearby districts.

Stayed here for a weekend recently. Great beer and huge food. I can't complain after a tough day of walking. Be warned that there are showers only, no baths, in the accommodation. I had the mushrooms on toast for breakfast...smothered in cheese, these are delicious.
