I thought this was a nice little place, nice beer garden, decent interior, friendly staff. The usual taps were on along with Cask Banks's MILD and bitter, sadly, the Marstons Oyster Stout wasn't on, a big shame, otherwise would have scored better Archivist - 31 May 2009 19:10 |
I first used this pub back in the 70's and 80's-and eventually we moved on I returned to the Shovel about six weeks ago-and how much we have both changed!! Excellent range of beers-none of which have been watered down!!-I'd hate to drink more than 3 on a week night!! and even better-food!! I've had a couple of lunches there-and last week on evening meal-horseshoe of gammon-real hot chips-great value !! The only drawback is that some nights the pub is very quiet-we could do with more customers to boost the atmosphere!! shutterbug - 17 Apr 2008 19:42 |
