Disgraceful language being used, also showing pictures of very young girls that a bloke called Peter met on holiday in Asia bordering on criminal, the actions of two of them Gary and Clive were disgusting saying what they like to do with boys on holiday, the pub needs to be looked into by the police, called us names because we left, pity as it's a great looking pub... peterbaker - 6 Apr 2016 16:11 |
We found this pub "The Good Intent" by luck as we had taken the wrong road. We were immediately greeted by the Landlady Pauline who made us feel very welcome. There was a darts match going on in the other bar with a real sporting atmosphere which was good to see. We frequent many pubs on our travels and I have to say this is one of the best village pubs I've been in for some time. The only comment I can make is "Pauline keep doing what your doing" because your doing a first class job. We'll done. SEP37 - 5 Jun 2014 13:40 |
The new Landlord and Landlady: Steve and Pauline have really turned this Pub around. Unlike under the previous owners you can be confident the Pub will be open at the advertised times and certain of a friendly welcome. The locals are very friendly and more than happy to chat and share a joke with strangers. The two real ales: Harveys and Larkins were kept in excellent condition. The pub boasts a real fire and the food wonderful for the price. Try the Tempura prawns or a selection of dishes from the Tapas menu! LibationLust - 9 Nov 2011 22:15 |
I had high hopes of The Good Intent when the new incumbents took over; their ideas seemed good and with the pub's marvellous situation it ought to be a gem. Sadly though, they're lumbered, willy-nilly, with their old clientele, who are an uninviting crew, and the place seems to have stayed very much where it was. Last time I went in there was no cask beer available, and I haven't tried again for some time, so maybe I'll give it another go - but I'm not optimistic. earlydrinker - 1 Oct 2011 12:52 |
After the drab White House, my son and I popped down to the Good Intent. In spite of the opening times claiming it was open, the doors were well and truly locked. Oh well off to the excellent Walnut Tree then. Paul_Rochdale - 3 Feb 2010 22:15 |
