Following the recent development this pub is even closer to Country Inn Restaurant "with bar", which is how it advertises itself. 4 Beers on . Wherry ,Adnams, Tom Woods and Abbot, and seemingly no rotation with other breweries .Beer In good condition though Very good new rooms for accommodation, but this doesn't not make it a destination pub for the real ale lover Verdict. Worth calling in if in the area - pleasant back garden and pergola R42 Polypinmath - 12 Apr 2010 09:46 |
I have discussed my last entry with my good lady wife. She loved the place as much as me, but disagrees with my comment about this not having a 'village' pub feel. She felt it did. She would also have liked to come back for more if we had the time. A definite must if we are in the area again. generalstaal - 16 Apr 2009 09:50 |
This pub had been extensively refurbished when I visited over the Easter Holidays 2009. It has not got a 'village' pub feel. However, the food was absolutely delicious and there were four ales on, two of which I drank - the Woodforde's Wherry and a drink called Nemesis (I forget the brewery!). Unfortunately, I cannot remember the other ales. The staff were brilliant. We ate and drank in the new restaurant extension at the back and watched the sunset over the hills in the distance. A very lovely evening. It was pity we only stayed in the area for a couple of nights, or we would have been back! generalstaal - 14 Apr 2009 19:22 |
Good, slightly off the beaten track pub. Always busy but always a place to sit down. Friendly and chatty, good range of beers, good food, if spectacular helpings-be hungry, be very hungry-well worth a visit, but, Chelsea Tractor drivers beware, gastropub it ain't and thank God for that-try the White Horse, Brancaster Staithe. Friendly pub with good mix of locals and visitors, unlike a lot of West Norfolk pubs, the latter haven't spoilt it yet. Nice range of beers, restaurant at side of bar, usual pub fare but cooked well and the helpings are enormous! Well worth an evening visit for a pint and a meal. Ed - 20 Mar 2006 16:21 |
