Rural pub on a main road north of Hull. It has a sizeable garden with chickens roaming around. The interior is dark and cosy with plenty of nautical memorabilia. A few were just finishing their midweek lunches. Others were checking out from their accommodation. With no real cider, Great Newsome Jem's Stout was my drink of choice. A fairly decent beer. Other ales available were Greene King IPA & Sharp's Doom Bar. Nice place. blue_scrumpy - 31 Aug 2019 11:41 |
Popped in one sunday afternoon. Too late to try the food. Carpark to rear. Cosy, local feel, friendly staff. Wish it was our local village pub! PollyPocket74 - 2 Apr 2011 22:05 |
Well Kept Black Sheep Landlord has a young family but does not allow children in the bar area I whole heartedly agree with this policy There are far too few adult only pubs in my opinion.......................... SWF - 20 Jul 2010 13:44 |
drank in this pub with my family several times but today 25/oct/09 we had family from milton keynes with ourselves ten in total would have eaten and drank in the pub BUT when i rang up the pub to book a table i mentioned that we would also have with us my grandaughter aged 14 months who would have been asleep in a car chair but was told we could not take our grandaughter into the pub as she was not allowed when i challenged this and asked why i was told if she was teenager age she would have been allowed i find this DISGUSTING surely anybody can see that a teenager would be more troublesome than a 14 month old baby who cannot even walk yet because of this ruling we bookrd s table at a different pub who welcomed our child with open arms NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NEVER VISIT OR RECOMMEND SHIP INN AT DUNSWELL TO ANYONE PS OUR BILL AT THE OTHER PUB WAS 82 PLUS TIP WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY. kawasaki - 25 Oct 2009 11:27 |
