user reviews of the Queens Head, Wednesbury

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Queen's Head was the most upmarket of the 6 pubs I visited in Wednesbury. It has a cosy interior, where food appeared to be popular. A number of drinkers were sat outside at the front enjoying the sunny weather. The house beer is Backyard Royal Gold. They also have Wye Valley HPA on regularly. The guest beer was Inferno from Oakham, which I had. As with most pubs in this neck of the woods, real cider is not sold.

Friendly local pub with good mix of customers in the bar. Lounge is often busy for traditional pub meals at lunchtimes and early evening, with the more discerning regulars arriving for a quiet drink later on. Can get quite lively, especially on Saturdays during football season with fans of all local teams co-existing quite happily (to the surprise of many away fans!) with just a small amount of good-natured piss-taking. Beer garden open for kids in summer, with burgers and bouncy castle. Fairly average beer, but it's the regulars who make it what it is - and tequila or sambuca seem the norm at weekends anyway!
