Best Sunday lunch I've eaten in years, we popped in and we're lucky to get a table that someone had just left. Pub seems to be having a lot of building work done but the food was still superb. Crunchy roasties, lots of tender beef, huge yorkie and delicious gravy. Butty Bach beer was spot on and my wife loved the real ginger beer. Certainly worth a visit. Scrappy2009 - 29 Mar 2010 18:51 |
revisited today, very disappointed. Pub could do with a clean, chairs in restaurant etc thick with dust. food not the same quality as previous visits, difficult to cut the beef and duck with the knives. we suggested they supply steak knives in future and in fact later on the next table they did!! Vegetables were not inspiring, gravy had a funny taste in fact the only thing we enjoyed was the BEER. Having previously praised and recommended this pub to many friends I am sad to have rate our visit so lowly. We will NOT be returning. mada - 11 Feb 2007 19:37 |
A Great little gem. I have been back a few times now, and cannot recommend it enough too :) The food and service cannot be faulted, great surroundings and atmosphere, all done with the friendliest of service 11 out of 10 :) Doddu - 2 May 2006 15:57 |
Read previous review, so gave it a try.THANKS Totally agree with comments about staff, beer and food. Charming pub with friendly locals only 1 1/2 miles from main road. Sunday lunch was excellent. Our plates were the same as everybody elses in pub, totally clean plates at the end of the meal. Best meal we have had in wales in years of eating out !!!. So go there but DON'T tell your best friends. mada - 19 Mar 2006 16:59 |
What a beautiful little nugget! great ale, great food (no chain pub cardboard here), sensible prices, nice people, good service. Cant recommend it enough! get down there before everyone finds out and spoils it! Triathlete - 16 Feb 2006 11:46 |
