I preferred this place when they had a Puzzle Bobble machine in the corner. Men have been wearing daring sock and slipper combinations in this establishment for quite some time now so I think it's churlish to say that the vibrancy of the area hasn't spilled over into the bar. The Stella can be offish but you won't see me complaining. Keep up the good work chaps. William_Plantagenet - 2 Mar 2007 14:47 |
Awful boozer in an otherwise nice, vibrant area. The barman tutted when I finally got his attention to order a drink. The beer tasted like it had been left in the glass overnight and the stares and threatenng comments from the other drinkers made you feel very uncomfortable. A roughhouse. Stay away. Very difficult to say that a pub is the worst in London, but...this one comes very close. The decor is awful and they have a rowing boat hanging from the ceiling...whats that about? The beer is a basic selection of fizzy lagers and dosen't appear to be kept very well. The staff are surly but I suppose if you worked in this place you'd be a little depressed. The two things that really make this place awful are the toilets (wouldn't look out of place in a WW1 trench) and the customers, a stange mix of old codgers, hoodies and street dross. All in all a dire place with an atmosphere of brooding violence. Best avoided. anonymous - 4 Feb 2006 18:01 |
