YEP - totally agree this is a great pub with it's staff very friendly and helpful esp the barman. The food is very good value and big portions and steady service with the three cask ales to choose from. Yates T.T Landlords and another guest and all finely served and great tasting. The landlord and staff know quality counts and thery serve it up in bundles - can't wait to return later in the month. Mcloj - 17 Oct 2011 11:52 |
Was staying in the area and popped into this pub. What a great pub it is staff very friendly and helpful esp the barman with the ginger hair and beard. food is very good three cask ales to choose from. Yates T.T Landlords and the third escapes me at the moment. the only complaint i have is all the three casks were a blond beer i would have preferred to try a dark cask ale but non were available. But apart from that it's an excellent little boozer westminster - 26 Jul 2011 20:44 |
What an excellent find. Was staying at the Ennerdale hotel for a week and after a couple of nights of substandard grub me and my colleague thought we'd pop out for a ruby. Stumbled upon the Brook on the way and decided to wet our whistle. The beer was so good and the food so tasty we stayed the evening and went back the next just for good measure. The barman Chris was very friendly and kept the beer really well for a perry drinker. A welcome change from some other pubs in the area who couldn't offer a less friendly welcome if you'd just had a dump on the carpet. Can't really fault it as a good English pub. Actually I can, it's 400 miles from where I live in Sussex! gooner23 - 11 Aug 2010 23:15 |

Excellent food and beer and very friendly staff. Nine of us had a great lunch whilst walking the Coast to Caost route. The pub's well worth the small detour! GBaigent - 3 Jun 2008 11:34 |
