| Still a proper pub, real log fire, no telly, no juke box although a selection of non-intrusive music is often playing, but usually drowned out by the lively chatter. Very quiet early on, becomes livelier but not crowded later. Head and shoulders above any other pub in this busy village, the staff & regulars are very welcoming and the place is spotless. The only downside is "smoothflow" bitters. If you eat here, you had better be hungry! They do B&B too - I stayed here for a week, and would certainly stay there again if in the area.
