A curiosity visit and the first and only pub visited in Dorset that didn't have Palmers. I went for a decent pint of Otter, but really should have had the local from Burton Braunston. A few diners but a very reserved a quiet atmosphere for a saturday night. Mappiman - 17 Mar 2015 17:54 |
Insular, decrepit, surly staff and the cellarman should've gone to specsavers HarryHawthorn - 25 Nov 2013 19:03 |
Visited a couple of times last week, it seems to be a real community pub - when we went there was a skittles league taking place and a poker night and numerous other events are advertised. Three ales were on tap, Wadworth 6X, Hobgoblin and a guest ale and were fine, if not particularly inspiring. The food is pretty standard pub grub but was decently cooked and the portions were hearty. The welcome was warm and the bar staff were on the ball and friendly. Dougalyd - 24 Sep 2012 16:15 |
Super beer, decent well priced grub and an atmosphere that even on a midweek lunchtime was fairly lively with locals, walkers and passers by like me, who criminally in all my trips to this lovely part of the country never been in here before - suffice to say I will return as soon as I can. The real winner is the decor, thousands of clocks around the place including one made out of a crisp packet, on one of the pillars at the bar. Oakman100 - 27 May 2012 18:18 |
