This place was a crap hole but the Oak is the most up its own ass local I have ever known. Please reopening it . I cant bear the Oak any longer! and im too lazy to walk up the village like most of the punters who still suffer the Oak sc_bt - 18 Jun 2008 16:42 |
pubs full of mugs and wannabee's, steer clear ploughmans - 20 Apr 2006 15:01 |
I didnt spend long in here but long enough to note that this really is a pretty awful pub (I had been forewarned not to expect much). Unimaginative, plain, cheap dcor with Venetian blinds on the windows and probably the ugliest bar surround Ive ever seen the canopy is so low that ordering a pint is like looking through a letter box opening. Standard beers (no ales), android bar staff, some of whom dont look old enough to drink in pubs let alone work in them. Devoid of any meritable features although it was hard to see much owing to the masses crowded in here prior to a Charlton game. The only positive thing I can say is that at least we did get served reasonably quickly given the crowds but to be honest, the only excuse to go back here would be to remind myself how dull this place is! Real Local Pub, Quite pricey on a match day usually has a lot of Police around the outside of it. casual66 - 12 Jan 2006 11:56 |
