Outstanding food and pleasant service. I enjoyed pheasant with red cabbage and bread sauce plus a decent bottle of Malbec. Highly gastro in feel so not somewhere to cpme just for a drink although they appeared to have Oxford Gold on tap. More light pine and muzak than a branch of Ikea (the neraby Star has done a better job with the furnishings). BoehmBawerk - 11 Nov 2014 09:23 |
Another nice looking pub outside with an uninspiring beer choice inside jimshoppenus - 6 Jun 2013 11:35 |
Quite a surprise. Down a side street, away from the shoulder-to-shoulder pubs and deli's and so on of the High St and Market St, this pub is bit like the Tardis and is huge inside going back quite a way. Pleasant atmosphere, lots of food choices and the beer was good too Andylk - 29 Oct 2012 18:31 |
Pub seemed nice enough, and the menu looked good, but there was only Hobgoblin on tap when we went, and it was barely drinkable! Hopefully a one-off. Rambling_Paddy - 7 Feb 2011 13:12 |
Very good job they have done to that pub, it's not a potato pub anymore, it's nice and clean in there now. You can really tell that the food is home made and fresh. My friend and I go there at least once a week for the crispy pork belly and we just love it. not expenssive and now they are doing pie&pint for 6 every tuesday. Highly recomend it.
