Stark and open plan with a small mix of locals and students on a Saturday night, the only ale on was Doom Bar at a reasonable £3.20. Nicely placed for those making their way into town for a night out to stop in for a cheeky one or two or those Osney Islanders who prefer an unpretentious drinking experience compared to the nearby Punter. The pint I had was well poured and well kept. Staff friendly but food service was very slow. DuchyBoy - 7 Apr 2010 14:57 |
Not as good as thought it would be. Failed to deliver on many promises made. Only 1 real ale, no choice. Not much atmosphere. Disappointing. Quite clean though. Although, action should be taken against the many spiders all over the place indoors. It puts people off! littlemisspiggy - 1 Aug 2008 18:33 |
What a delightful pub! Fantastic, helpful staff, great food and nice beers. A great selection of drinks too! We popped in after being told it had been taken over by someone new. The last time we were there, it was grubby looking and populated by children (and yes, they DID have pints in their hands!) What a dramatic change for the better! Clean, airy but warm, and very friendly. Kate and Ricky have done wonders in this place. Best of Irish to you both! littlemisspiggy - 29 Oct 2007 16:53 |
Well just called into the Holly Bush and what a transformation. Happy cheerful new owners have definately put their stamp on the place. A traditional clean, open and friendly place. Great touch with the traditional juke box and piano! We will be visiting more regularly. Good luck to Kate and Ricky. anonymous - 19 Feb 2007 19:57 |
