This place came highly recommended and I'm not sure why or how. It could be great, but it's just like a Wetherspoons - and with half the atmosphere. We both just quickly supped our beers and made a quick exit.

Visited this pub at the weekend (very busy) decent atmosphere and there was a decent selection of ales on offer. I sampled a pint of Rooster and it was lovely. I only have one complaint, its another of those pubs where the gents are upstairs !! it drives me mad having to go up 3 flights of stairs for a wee....

Went in on a mid week lunchtime. Good selection of ales and a good meal. Staff very polite and helpful. Recommended.

I visited The Cross Keys only yesterday evening ( 10/07/2011) The only thing I can say positively is the barmaid/waitress/didnt want to be there had gorgeous red hair. The food was diabolical, unless you like cold plates, tough cheap cut of rump steal. (My husbands dish) and I chose cod wrapped in rubber salmon served with "Crushed Potatoes" and frezzing cols asparagus. The atmosphere of the place was somewhat simliar to the moon. Staff were disinterested and made a feeble attempt to create some ambience by struggling to light a tealoght half way through our diabolical meal. Thats it basically :)
