Great pint of Pennine, fabulous breakfast. Can't wait to return for evening meal. Geordie_Dave - 5 Aug 2023 15:02 |
Two bar pub just outside the town centre, fake half timbered interior and an odd clap board clad bar festooned with racing tickets. Comfortable bench seating and some interesting pictures of old Thirsk otherwise pretty bland. Less than wonderful John Smiths Cask was the only real ale sold, along with the predictable S & N keg line up. Pool table and TV to take your mind off the beer. anonymous - 9 Mar 2009 10:16 |
A very friendly local, serving excellent real ales (Black Sheep brewery ales are the regular), with other guest ales on. A wide variety in terms of good, honest pub food. I popped in here a weary traveller, staying the night in the B&B accommodation. The ales were very, very good. It was excellent value for money, and the vegetarian breakfast that the wonderful landlady kindly cooked for my wife and I was first class. I seem to recall that there was a music / events venue being completed at the back of the pub when I was there. It'll probably be completed by now, and if so, it would make for a great night out. norgor - 30 Mar 2006 00:31 |
