When they say 'really welcoming family pub' that means it is full of kids (as in the teenage glue sniffing variety). There was a main bar with music too loud to think for who's beneift I know not, a couple of kids talking about how glue effects them and an inordinate number of semi drunk people at the start of the eevning.. We went in to the small snug for some peace and quiet only to find we were sharing it with a couple of brats with empty glasses playing their ipads at full blast in competition with the music from the other bar. anonymous - 13 Jan 2013 10:01 |
Dull choice of real ales - cask john smiths, tetley and bombardier. OK. oftenscore6 - 18 Nov 2010 01:12 |
Half decent pub, you can get a hand pulled pint of fair quality and it's relatively clean and tidy. Far from perfect, but in a town singularly lacking in good pubs, this is one of the few I can step into without a sense of overwhelming foreboding. coverpoint - 27 Apr 2010 10:32 |
