Wondered if there is still a price difference between bar and lounge as the bar was crowded with locals and the lounge empty. Plain functional kind of bar that does the job but not worth the trek up from the station. The Stewart's 80 bob was the only thing on handpull and it was just about drinkable though not enough for us to have another. anonymous - 23 Jan 2010 11:13 |
I visited this pub because it is on the Sustrans Route 7 from Carlisle to Glasgow and otherwise probably would not have stopped. It is not very inspiring from outside. But inside (11am on a Saturday) it was a cosy 'old man's pub' with two beers: Strathaven: Duchess Anne and the eccentric Tryst: Zetland Wheatbier. Stop cycling! drtimthornton - 29 Aug 2008 15:09 |
WE went in for a meal, but were told that the kitchen was shut!, so after a pint of Houston "Petes Well" we went to another pub to eat. anonymous - 10 Oct 2007 09:51 |
