Very nice pub, with large outdoor eating area. Beer was good, so was the food - albeit unashamedly pub-grub. Staff were polite and service was quick. Caravanster - 20 May 2012 21:57 |
Chose the rising Sun from BITE whilst on a walking holiday with friends. Apparently the place has recently changed management. Felt very welcome, with great menu choices and well cooked food (I've never seen a pile of chips this big before!). nigmag - 9 Jul 2011 11:06 |
Great pub. Cheap and cheerful but super-friendly and welcoming. Went there after Xmas and counted 6 fake bling Xmas trees inside. Great!!! Real treat after plodding through a muddy forest speshalbroo - 13 Jan 2008 00:10 |
This is a lovely pub. The outside is lovely with a pond and plenty of fish and a couple of ducks! The pub itself has a warm welcoming feeling and has plenty to offer. There are lots of local beer on tap and the food is delicious. The staff are all friendly and the owners are very friendly and go out of their way to help. The pub caters for children and is very popular with walkers. sandwell101 - 22 Apr 2007 20:06 |
An excellent pub in the very heart of the Forest of Dean. Real Ale (including the local 'Freeminer' and 'Speculation' and good food all served. Much favoured by the locals generally and the local caving club in particular. Raimundo - 3 Nov 2005 14:27 |
