First pub of our Lizard peninsula holiday and left reeling by having to pay £8.45 for a pint of Tribute and a bottle of Thatchers Katy''s cider. I blame myself for having no idea that supermarket cider cost that much in pubs. Otter Bitter, Sharps Sea Fury and Skinners Lushingtons completed the beer range. As the only other customers were foul-mouthed locals, it wasn''t a great experience (it was raining as well) so we chose the White Hart as our preferred St Keverne pub from then on. paul_d102 - 18 Sep 2017 12:49 |
A great little village pub with a good selection of well kept beer on tap. Not shown for 'St Keverne' on this website but on the other side of the square is the 'White Hart' also a decent pub serving a good selection of beer, (extraordinary that such a small out of the way place can support two good pubs). Also nearby at Porthallow and again not shown on this website is the 'Five Pilchards' and if you have a chance visit it, do....a real gem with well kept beer and what looked like well prepared pub grub....and the real purpose of the visit would be to soak up the atmosphere as its an old pub, virtually on the beach, and has a spectacular view of Falmouth Bay... a lot to take in whilst supping a pint. ridleyman - 23 Jul 2012 12:45 |
Had a Sunday Roast here - not the best, but above average. Lovely pint of Proper Job though. Ramone - 28 Feb 2012 15:27 |
Spent a great evening here yesterday (Thursday). Four real ales on and all were OK. The pub was very busy with friendly locals playing Euchre and darts. Did not try food so could not give full points, but it looked OK. A great evening and I will return. LizardImbiber - 19 Feb 2010 18:10 |
We spent a pleasant sunny afternoon here relaxing after ringing the bells at the neighbouring church. I can't remember what the beer was, but it was good enought o keep us there for a while. Food looked tempting too. Fine traditional pub. Alph_river - 30 Jun 2008 18:20 |
