7th Feb 2014......Unfortunately, it would appear that Wadworths and the ex-landlord did not see eye to eye and this once good pub is closed. Other Wadworth's pubs in the area eg. The Woodbrige, have also closed. They are also dispensing with their draught horses and stables, so, I smell a corporate change by this brewery.Shame. Sploosh - 7 Feb 2014 15:06 |
Stopped enroute home for a quick pint. What a mistake. Its not possible to have a quick pint in there. Took us over 3 hours to get out of the place. What a great pub. The landlord knows his ale and keeps it in top notch condition. Super friendly staff and locals. What a proper pub should be. Only my second ever 10 rating. Yes it was that good. If not for work in the morning we'd still be there. Zaphod - 17 May 2009 22:43 |
24/3/07. Very good reasonable value food until c. March 2006. New tenants who then came in did not compare well with their predecessors and left at the end of February 2007. Temporary tenants are now in place awaiting new permanent appointment by Wadworths. whitehorse - 24 Mar 2007 12:18 |
Comfortable and welcoming coaching inn. Wadworths beer was good, food was relatively cheap but not great. mtaylor40 - 26 Aug 2006 08:56 |
Traditional coaching inn with real ale, many whiskies and bar and restaurant food. Also does B & B. Used by local community but welcomes strangers, hence my suggesting it. I could not fault it in any way ! squawk - 17 Oct 2005 19:31 |
