Very handsome pub on the Cartway lane that links old and new town. Central Island Bar, with wooden floors all around and traditional pub furniture. Decking terrace around the back, with views over the Severn. Great bar staff - and a choice of around 6 real ales on, including two from Three Tuns. Perfect condition. Faultless pub. Dropped in on a Friday evening. Nice buzz about the place and friendly atmosphere. Had a nice pint of Hardys & Hansons (GK) Olde Trip. Was going for a pint of Futility (brewed by Stonehouse Brewery in Weston, near Oswestry) but they had to change the barrel and I couldn't be bothered to wait. Several other ales on too. Worth a visit. JJWalks - 3 May 2018 21:50 |
Went in here one Sunday lunchtime after visiting Bridgnorth's Christmas Market. The pub is situated on a hill between High Town and Low Town. It was packed, with standing room only. One room had some kind of live music. Ales were Salopian Golden Thread, Greene King St Edmund's Ale, Hobson's Old Prickly, Hardy and Hanson's Olde Trip, Gorgeous Beer Company Black Boy Bitter & Saltaire Triple Chocoholic. The cider was Old Rosie. The pub positive oozes character and is one to search out if in Bridgnorth. blue_scrumpy - 1 Feb 2018 19:03 |
Thankfully very much open! A great pub in a great location. Very busy when I was in there last (early Jan 2015) Good pint of Titanic Iceberg (IIRC) in a handle glass... Well worth a visit between High and Low towns Upton_Parker - 9 Jan 2015 16:40 |
