Having read the last comment I decided to give the Three Crowns a try. Well something must have changed since the last comment. The pub was lifeless, only 1 real ale on, food was dire and it was like the Mary Celeste. The back bar fitting had very little stock and there was a sign outside saying 'Customers required, Apply Within'. Looks like this place is going one way......down. Recommendation? Wait till it changes hands (again). It has potential, just needs a good leader. wolvesfan - 25 Aug 2009 09:01 |
Hound of the Baskervilles dog has gone (along with the previous landlord) thank goodness and the pub is lovely now with its new landlords, who have really made it nice, improving both the garden and the interior. This is a historic pub on what used to be the main Salisbury to Southampton road, but is now a lovely quiet rural cul de sac. However travellers between Salsibury and Southhampton will have no trouble finding it as it is located just off the Southern end of the A36 Alderbury by pass. Good food, lovely hosts and great rural walks from the front door. Hubcap - 1 Nov 2008 06:53 |
Great pub with good food and real ale. realy quirky but nice and cosy. Has real fires in the winter. Large Garden and Hound of the baskervill dog. Jim Heathcote - 13 Sep 2005 15:38 |
