| Voted North Brfordshire pub of the year 2011 by CAMRA, with good reason. Regular real ales are Red Star and Black Sheep, both of which are excellent. Normally two guest ales. Food is good, honest, pub food. You need to book if you want to eat on Fridays, Saturdays or for Sunday lunch. Closed on Mondays. Dog friendly and children friendly. Rasputin27 - 30 Apr 2011 14:55 |
| Don't know why on earth this pub has got such a low rating. I go in here quite often as part of a circular walk that brings us to the pub just over the halfway stage and every time we go we are made to feel very welcome by the landlord and and his wife (despite the muddy walking boots). The beers are always in very good nick and there's a couple of interesting guest ales every time we go. It's good to warm your bones beside the fire (to quote Pink Floyd) on a cold day and nice to sit out in the beer garden when it's warm and sunny. In all the times that we have been, we've never actually eaten there, but it always looks good and some friends who had sunday lunch there recently recommended that we do (nut roast for us veggies - very nice). | very good old fashioned village pub with open fires and top quality food good choice of real ales found the black sheep a good pint seems to be busy for food most nights luckly they managed to fit me and my girlfriend in when we went had to wait 45mins for a table as we went on the off chance worth the wait recomend steak and ale pie looks properly home made friendly place would go back again john1967 - 26 Nov 2010 14:48 |
