Experience of this pub really depends on who's working that night. Some of the staff really don't care and want to close asap. We had a pool tournament with the pub team and even they commented on it. The food is defrosted and fried/microwaved well. PMG - 7 Jun 2008 15:03 |
this is a fabulous bar and hotel on the beach on the South of Arran. Monday nights are music nights and have a gr8 atmosphere. Dogs are welcome in the bar area too. Beer - usual suspects Guinness is spot on and the Arran ales in bottles are pretty decent. The whiskey selection is superb as is the vodka - absolut with all different flavourings went down a treat! Food very good too. Highly recommended. mikndee - 1 Aug 2007 12:19 |
This is a recently refurbished bar within a hotel towards the south of Arran with good views of the sea. Theres nothing to trouble the score keeper by way of cask beer but the Arran Brewery beers are available in bottles. The feeling is more a caf bar than a pub with modern wood furniture and no more difficulty in getting a coffee than a proper drink. But it is worth knowing about. drtimthornton - 27 May 2007 18:03 |
Really friendly atmosphere, pool and darts, and right on the seafront, making this a very nice pub. Live music during the summer as well. The only drawback is the selection of beers, with the only bitter being Tennent's Velvet, although as said before, the Guinness is good if you're into that sort of thing. They stock the Arran ales (which aren't fantastic, but alright) and have a very wide selection of whisky, which redeems it somewhat. woodyptom - 21 Jun 2006 21:23 |
Probably the cosiest and most atmospheric pub on Arran. The locals are lunatics but will make you feel welcome (except for random giants who listen to Tom Waits) and the staff are a great bunch (I've worked with them before). And if you like Guinness, you'll get on fine! travis_dave - 6 Oct 2005 16:08 |
