First pub i visited after i arrived in Warsaw, spacious and rather dark interior with plenty of seating, especially for diners. Sampled three of the brews on offer; stout, honey and wheat beers. The honey beer was excellent, stout good and the wheat beer rather average. The Mallard makes a fair point regarding prices, 12zl in Warsaw is quite expensive, a suburban bar would only charge half that price for beer. Warsaw is a city that disappoints and the bar scene is a very mixed experience indeed! nokegthanks - 28 Nov 2012 18:17 |
Crikey I'd heard from a friend who posts on another site this place had deteriorated quite a lot, and didn't want to believe him, seems like he was right. Shame as this was possibly Warsaw's first brewpub, and that alone could have been a commercial advantage for them. lad_newton - 9 Oct 2012 23:07 |
Can't say I was overly impressed. In a nice location and we watched a legalise cannabis march pass as we sat in the small area out the front. The service wasn't anything special - the usual, slow and like it is a privilege for them to serve you kind of service still prevalent in many parts of Eastern Europe coupled with a 20 minute wait if we wanted PIls while they changed the barrel The Pils was no better than the standard brews offered in other bars(had a much nicer pint of Warka in the next bar), the red ale was a bit keg bitter like and the stout wasn't up to a lot - in fact our Polish freind found it undrinkable. Add to the fact it charges 12 Z for a beer other places charge 8 for and it comes out an all round disappointment. anonymous - 9 Oct 2012 18:19 |
Great bar with great beers brewed on the premises. The beer is a bit more expensive than in most oter bars, 12 Zloty for 0.4 Ltr but worth it. Service was good even though it was busy, we were sat at the bar though. tanky - 1 Mar 2010 14:17 |
Great Pub, and on a par with the Bierhalle in terms of beer. Loved the Pils and wheat beers, didn't try the ginger as I don't like them, the stout was nice, but was served warm, and that's warm by English real ale standards! Inside was a restaurant area, so we sat in the enclosed terrace, a great place to watch the World and students go by. Service was a bit slow, but not unacceptably so, and the staff were very friendly. A pleasant way to pass an afternoon. Dylanwing - 9 Oct 2007 20:39 |
