We have been here a number of times now being new to the area, very interesting wood carvings by the landlord, worth the visit for the quirkyness. Had one meal we found very enjoyable on a quiet night. Also went there for a local band , one of the best nights out in a while, as strangers felt welcome and good music. Might be a bit daunting if you wanted to have a chat over the noise but really lively.

Visited last night, its a large two roomed village local with passing trade on a minor route out of Chard. Two beers, Otter ale and Exmoor Ale 3.8 % which were in good order but a bit unimaginative as they were both 3.8%.
See Paris_Hilton's comments on other nearby pubs in Somerset, these beers seem to be in every freehouse in this area. Serves food and chips were good portions. Loads of interesting wood carving dotted around the place.

Really looking forward to visiting this pub on Saturday night (5th December). I'm particularly looking forward to sampling the specials menu and seeing some of Trevors unusual wood carvings. I also can't wait to try the Baileys they stock. Yummy!

Myself, my brother and two Dave's are in town - so watch out Chard! If you see four chaps from Oxfordshire please do say hello to us and please dont beat us up.

Best
Nicholas

Funny little local pub, good if you enjoy a louder atmosphere not so good I found, for a quiet meal. Food is ok.
