Smallish one-roomed London boozer in the unremarkable Lisson Grove district. In keeping with many of the pubs in this area, no real ale is served, which isn’t a surprise (keg favourite John Smiths notwithstanding). Unfortunately, there's very little to remark upon further; the basics are catered for and no doubt it serves its purpose in the location it’s situated in. Komakino - 10 Jul 2014 16:16 |
Tried this place on a pub crawl and its quite interesting to read the previous review - from 2006 - as not much has changed. Didnt see much options for ales, the lager choices werent much kop neither, and the locals gave us a few unassuming looks. The highlight was that someone had put "London Girl" by Chas n Dave on the jukebox which annoyed the younger crowd in the corner who'd put a load of rubbish on, whilst all the older lot (30 years upwards) had a good sing song. if there was more of that, it would get a better walk in rate Id say pompeyron - 28 Aug 2013 18:56 |
No real ale - two seemingly long-redundant hand pumps display this. Not a charmless interior, but so much more could be made of it as it still retains some original features. Fairly grim toilets. About as intimidating as a pub in central London can get (i.e. not very, but enough to scare the willies out of the faint hearted). When we were in on a Saturday afternoon they were playing (pretty good) music full blast which actually compensated for the otherwise despressing atmosphere and the death stares of the regulars making this a stop on a pub crawl we walked away from with our sanity intact. 4/10. anonymous - 13 Mar 2006 14:51 |
