Seems to be more of a food place, the beer was OK but not memorable. Andylk - 18 Oct 2013 17:56 |
Interesting to read the comments of Roqwise above - we visited this pub on Sunday 11th August 2013....we too had a most unfriendly greeting by the landlady. The only reason we stayed was that we were meeting family there by arrangement (it looked nice online!). Even on paying our bill at the end (almost £100) her attitude was far from acceptable. We will NEVER visit this place again. davidsouthuk - 16 Aug 2013 10:10 |
Large pub (several rooms knocked through into one at sometime in the past by the look of it) with a pleasant garden. Nice enough service with pints topped up without having to ask. BUT: 3.50 for Deuchars IPA? Coutage Best and Directors also on offer. I'd say that they concentrate more on the food side than beer but the menu didn't look cheap. Not sure that I'd bother to return at those prices. cheshirecat - 24 Mar 2012 11:09 |
I have literally never had such an unfriendly hosts..Theresa Meaker was rude, abrupt and unhelpful, raising her voice at my 3 year old who had followed me into the "bar" area where I was trying to order my food.. (apparently children are not allowed into the bar- but how else am I supposed to order food, whilst looking after my little boy.) There was literally no one else in the bar area... now I know why! When I told Theresa that I would not be ordering food from her establishment (on the basis that if the food was half as good as the service, we would all get food poisoning!) She rushed to fetch her 25 stone husband Chris, who squared up me me in front of my 2 children (1 &3 yrs old) My son was still balling his eyes out as we collected our belongings and left to find a more suitable place to have a relaxing lunch on our short break to Salisbury... Advice:- Steer clear of this place- there are much nicer places to eat in Salisbury, and the owners are just not nice! rogwise - 7 Jun 2011 12:34 |
Nice pub with a good atmosphere. Weird though, sometimes empty then all of sudden full to the brim. Real ales are pretty good but not really the ones I like. Nice enough though. nickyboi45 - 7 Dec 2010 10:37 |
