| The George & Dragon was the first of 11 Shropshire pubs my wife and I trawled around yesterday. It's a nice olde worlde building on the High Street with a cosy front bar and a dining area at the rear. Ales were fairly mainstream - Morland Old Golden Hen, St Austell Tribute, Hobsons Best & Greene King Abbott. No real cider is served. The young barman overcharged me. But it wasn't deliberate. | Great little pub with great selection of proper beer.... 6X, Tribute, Doom Bar, Abbot & Youngs... 6X on fine form. A change to find a pub these days with classic beers rather than the usual run of the mill poorer quality so called "Locale" often found these days. stevane - 23 Jun 2012 09:44 |
| I popped in here for a quick one on a visit to the area and had a very nice pint of Doom Bar It's a real, proper pub. Very old and a bit knocked about but all the better for it.
