Still not a fan of Donnington ales but the B.B. was in good condition this afternoon. Pleasing to see a village pub packed to the rafters - a combination perhaps of good value carvery meals and England rugby on TV. paul_d102 - 12 Feb 2023 19:19 |
Lovely home-made food (steak and kidney pie was great), nothing too fancy but a wide choice. Very friendly bar staff and locals and the Donnington's BB was very well kept-as it should be as the brewery is just down the road! Flagstone floor, roaring fire, no musak or noisy fruit machines. Highly recommended. Sandman1 - 27 Nov 2008 12:06 |
This seems to be the locals pub in the village and its rather unprepossessing exterior put me off going in for quite some time. Inside has one main bar plus additional dining and function rooms, a bit old-fashioned a la Donningtons, but the food here was a revelation there is an extensive and stimulating menu usually including four vegetarian choices. Both Donningtons beers at little over two quid a pint. There is an enclosed garden at the back. krislee - 14 Aug 2007 19:56 |
A right and proper country pub. Your choice of the entire Donningtons range! (both were well kept). Amazing food. Friendly landlady. A skittle lane in the backroom for those so inclined. Reasonable prices. The mandatory old local ready and willing to talk on any and all topics. A must stop (preferably to eat). jorrocks - 2 Mar 2007 03:11 |
A basic old-fashioned village pub that serves honest-to-goodness food and those wonderful Donnington ales. A must-visit when walking the many local footpaths in the North Cotswolds. davidashbee - 22 Jul 2005 20:51 |
