In the Good Beer Guide 2017. The range of beers has diminished since these reviews and there were just a couple on - not that this is a problem. The Stroud Brewery Tom Long was in excellent condition. Soft drinks patrons server less well, with diet coke from a bottle under the bar with no ice available. We came for lunch, after a long walk and the only things on the chalk board on offer were very hearty full meals. 29 Degrees - who wants Liver Bacon and Mash at a lunchtime. Could do with a sandwich menu. Visit blogged at http://bit.ly/2vAxs4G Mappiman - 29 Aug 2017 11:13 |
Excellent pub with very large range of well-kept ales. Had a rather lovely Ploughmans lunch to accompany pints of Crouch Vale Summit and another which I forget. Welcoming atmosphere and the huge garden would have been appealing on a warmer afternoon. JonW999 - 29 Aug 2010 17:52 |
My son and his girlfriend took me out here last night. They have been going on about it for ages. Really nice little pub with excellent well-priced, unpretentious food. This won't be my last visit! Florrie - 12 Jan 2007 11:21 |
I love this pub. Looks great - old but pretty and quite informal. Food is great - nothing too pretentious but lots of choice. I love the cottage pie - with chips - you get enough for two people so you'd better be really hungry! They used to do gorgeous fruit wines for the ladies but sadly no longer (landlord take note!). It is tucked away in Cranham Village but ask a local if you can't find it cos it's definitely worth the effort. If they brought back the fruit wines I'd give it 10 out of 10. sueglos - 18 Aug 2006 12:47 |
