first time in the pub today, beer is the best kept i have tasted for ages and the food is worthy of an award. i cant fault the staff as they are attentive, friendly and easy-going. well worth a visit as its served by buses and trains and the management make you feel at home. call in and give it a try one day derbylad123 - 11 Jun 2012 14:23 |
Doombar and Pedigree on my last visit waiting for my train. Can get a mixed bag of customers from chavs to suits. Some members of staff are okay but some need a lesson in communication skills. Pricey, but then so is The Widows next door. Hit and miss. Handy for the station. ng10 - 10 Aug 2011 09:39 |
Miraculously has an Everards Tiger on amongst the array of fizz and nitro keg lagers. Has a tidy looking American Pool hall but the Station Inn, Alex or Brunswick are much better pubs. Often empty or full of football fans and has been the scene of a few Derby / Forest fights. goalman2000 - 10 Aug 2009 20:47 |
A drinking barn for the unwashed masses. A mistake for the discerning drinker coming out of the station when there are so many decent pubs in the vicinity. Went out for a smoke only to be joined by a group of youths drunk/stoned/imbalmed on something who were mooning at passing cars... this was a little after mid-day.... must be 'fun' in the evenings. anonymous - 30 Jun 2009 16:50 |
Seemed a bit dead when I went in. Four customers including me and the person I was with. Spacious open interior, large multi table pool lounge. The staff seemed friendly enough too. Any real pub fanatic should head two minutes down the road to the Brunswick or Alex though. jarofporter - 12 May 2009 16:11 |
