Not been up here for about 8 years A dozen or so folk in at tea time. Four real ales on; butcombe, rare breed, tally ho and London Pride. Had a pint of Rare Breed which was rarely average! Had to pop up the Rising Sun to wash the taste out with GWB. Disappointed. The_evil_doctor - 1 Feb 2013 20:41 |
Very welcoming service and excellent ale. The pint of Uley "Pigs Ear" I quaffed was very well kept. A lovely big beer garden is available for the summer months. 8/10 fat_beer_badger - 13 Aug 2011 15:17 |
Very friendly welcome from helpful staff. The beer is excellent with Fullers London Pride, Sharp's Doom bar and Uley Pigs Ear as regulars with one (usually strong) frequently rotating guest. The food is very good and the menu changes often. Well worth a visit. BristolBob - 10 Aug 2010 11:13 |
Now run by the couple who used to be in charge of the nearby Live & Let Live. Much improved beer quality - I really enjoyed my pint of the guest beer, Thornbridge Jaipur. downender - 7 Oct 2009 22:27 |
Five real ales on when I visited, including Bristol 7, Butcombe, Bass and Courage Best (all about 2.50). There was also another ale, whose name I forget, on offer at 1-50, but it was 5.5% so I had to give it a miss because I was on antibiotics. I tried o pint of Bristol 7, which was perfectly presented. The food looked good too and the garden was busy at 7 on a sunny Friday evening. Travelog - 3 Jun 2007 15:35 |
