Whilst on holiday with my husband and another two couples we visited this pub walked up to the bar and as the barman was about to take our order the Manager turned around, who was sitting at the bar drinking at the time, and in a nasty tone said "we are closed" consiquentley we did not vist his pub again. Loads of pubs in Scarborough with very nice Managers who were very happy to take our money bschurst - 26 Aug 2009 09:32 |
Unbeleivable....asked the bar man/thing for a pint of snakebite and after a while and a grunt he pulled me a pint of cider......asked him again for a pint of snakebite and he poured the cider down the sink, only to fill it with another pint of cider......asked him a 3rd time and low and behold...he tipped that pint of cider down the sink. ...... only to give me a half of lager (in a pint glass) and a half of cider and told to mix it myself......He never had any facial expressions whatso-ever!!! Well worth a vist if youve just had a family bereavement and you need a good laugh!!!!!!! littleoldwinedrinkerme - 6 Jul 2009 01:01 |
Sadly, seen the best of its days, which wouldnt be too much of a problem if they served a proper drink instead of the 4 tap tosh stuff. If you have no expectations and you wont be disappointed! Friendly enough and there was a chap singing away in the corner as the paid entertainment, who too be fair, was quite funny - even when the expectant audience, waiting to hum along to another classic hit, shrank from 10 to about 4. This really doesnt help, as its quite a big place. Archivist - 12 May 2009 20:04 |
Hasn't changed a lot from the times I took my kids there 30 years ago. Typical seaside front pub that does what it says on the tin, though it was empty when we were in early midweek evening. muzzyofrotherham - 19 Apr 2009 20:54 |
